What you will do
- Design, build, and scale backend services for AI-powered and LLM-driven applications.
- Develop secure, high-performance RESTful APIs using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Build and deploy machine learning models and production AI applications, including prompt orchestration and RAG architectures.
- Architect data storage across relational, NoSQL, and vector databases.
- Implement containerized, cloud-native solutions using Docker and ECS/EKS.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain code quality through testing, automation, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of backend development experience, including 2+ years working with AI/ML or LLM-based systems.
- Strong Python and API development skills.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SageMaker, and Bedrock.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases; knowledge of asynchronous programming, event-driven architectures, distributed systems, and testing frameworks.
- Role location: San Francisco, United States.
Nice to have
- Experience with PySpark, Databricks, distributed data processing, streaming platforms, ETL, and data pipelines.
- Familiarity with MLOps tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, and SageMaker Pipelines, plus Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Knowledge of microservices, observability tools, GraphQL APIs, regulated industries, data governance, compliance, R, or Stata.
