AI Performance Simulation Architect (AI): Architect and build scalable cycle-accurate AI accelerator performance models that run representative AI workloads with an accent on simulation environments, abstraction layers, and bottleneck analysis. Focus on integrating models into heterogeneous simulation environments, guiding hardware design, and optimizing system performance for datacenter-scale AI infrastructure.

Location: Remote, based out of North America. Must be eligible to access U.S. export-controlled technology (contingent on citizenship/permanent residency or license approval; certain countries restricted by U.S. EAR)

Compensation: $100k - $500k including base and variable

What you will do

• Architect and develop simulation environments for AI systems spanning accelerators, NoCs, and memory hierarchies.
• Define and implement abstraction layers from high-level analytical models to detailed simulations using tools like GEM5 or SST.
• Lead performance modeling and bottleneck analysis to guide architectural design and system optimization.
• Integrate AI accelerator performance models into larger heterogeneous simulation environments to examine system performance.
• Collaborate across hardware, software, and research domains while mentoring others.

Requirements

• Deep experience in AI accelerator architecture, micro-architecture, performance simulation, and system-level modeling
• Comfortable with abstraction layers from C++ performance models to software frameworks and system requirements
• Strong grasp of AI workloads and distilling them into inputs for performance models
• Understanding of how system design affects AI workload performance and scalability
• Deep experience with parallel programming (OpenMP, MPI, CUDA, OpenCL) and system analysis tools
• Located in North America and eligible for U.S. export-controlled technology access
