TL;DR

Senior Fullstack Software Engineer (AI Copilot): Lead the design, implementation, testing, and delivery of features spanning React and TypeScript-based UIs and scalable Ruby backend services, bringing AI-powered solutions to customer service agents with an accent on performant UIs, robust backends, and seamless AI interactions. Focus on architectural decisions, optimizing queries, addressing technical debt, and mentoring juniors.

Hybrid: Lisbon, Portugal (must attend local office for part of the week)

What you will do

• Own delivery of frontend and backend features from technical design through production release and iteration.
• Build and maintain performant, accessible UIs and robust backend services for AI-powered interactions.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and ML engineers to deliver impactful solutions.
• Participate in architectural decisions and influence technical direction across teams.
• Identify and address technical debt for high performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Drive adoption of hirify.global’s design system and write backend logic with testing.
• Mentor junior engineers via code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 5+ years in software engineering with strong frontend focus.
• Fluent in TypeScript and React; Ruby proficiency a plus.
• Experience with modern frontend architecture, state management, and accessible interfaces.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, RESTful APIs, Kafka, AWS, SQL, and data pipelines.
• Strong web fundamentals, frontend testing with Jest/React Testing Library.
• Track record of end-to-end feature ownership and high-quality delivery.
• Collaboration skills and adaptability to uncertainty.

Nice to have

• Experience with design systems, component libraries, micro-frontends, module federation.
• Storybook, i18n, and localisation familiarity.
