Location: Hybrid with ability to work onsite in corporate or client offices in the US as necessary; participation in video calls; business travel may be required.

What you will do

  • Develop and enhance RxCLAIM claim adjudication systems, including processing logic and integrations with downstream healthcare systems.
  • Design, optimize, and maintain COBOL-based programs and batch processes on IBM i/AS400.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in high-volume transaction environments.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor juniors, and drive code reviews and best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate PBM/healthcare requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Support data exchange via EDI/APIs and lead legacy modernization efforts.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Synon development experience
  • Strong hands-on COBOL programming in enterprise environments
  • Extensive IBM i/AS400 experience, including batch processing and high-volume systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues
  • Technical leadership and mentoring skills
  • Ability to work onsite in US offices as necessary; valid driver’s license for travel
