Location: Remote in the US; Hybrid in San Francisco for candidates with primary residence in the greater SF area (3 days/week in office). Candidates must permanently reside in the US full-time.

Salary: $31.00-$39.00/hour + equity + benefits

What you will do

• Drive insurance A/R follow-up and resolution for complex, high-risk accounts including rejections, denials, underpayments via payer portals and outreach.
• Own end-to-end workflows like recoupments, coding audits, and special projects to meet SLAs and reduce aging risk.
• Support reporting, KPIs monitoring, and reconciliation while flagging trends for operational improvements.
• Identify root causes of claim issues, recommend remediation, and advance AI/automation opportunities in collections.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical, Provider Ops, and Product teams to optimize workflows for health plans and clients.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Revenue Cycle Management experience with strong knowledge of medical claims and health plan/EAP rules
• Strong claims follow-up skills across denials, rejections, underpayments; ability to drive independent resolution
• Root-cause problem solving, attention to detail, high standards for accuracy and documentation
• Ability to prioritize competing tasks, communicate assumptions early, and use Excel for reporting
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration in fast-paced environment

Nice to have

• Behavioral health/mental health or telehealth billing experience
• Professional coding certification
• Experience with process improvement and automation in RCM
• Experience in B2B2C healthcare environments
