TL;DR
Service Engineer (Africa): Lead technical response for grounded drone delivery assets including aircraft, droids, and docks with an accent on systematic troubleshooting, diagnostics, and rapid restoration to service. Focus on coordinating cross-team resources, root cause analysis, log review, and ensuring regulatory compliance in 24/7 shift operations.
Location: Kigali, Rwanda. You are eligible to work in Rwanda. 24/7 shift operations including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations required. Occasional travel (10%) for training or site support.

What you will do
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution for grounded assets using diagnostic tools, approved procedures, and log analysis to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate cross-team escalations, create work orders, and ensure handoffs to maintenance and engineering teams.
- Maintain operational tempo in 24/7 shifts with handovers, on-call duties, and emergency responses.
- Generate reports, identify patterns, and contribute to troubleshooting guides and process improvements.
- Track incidents using tools like Zerp, Fleet Apps, incident.io, and Jira while prioritizing critical assets.
- Ensure compliance with FAA Part 135, CAMP requirements, and documentation standards.
Requirements
- Eligible to work in Rwanda
- 3+ years experience with technical background in mechanical, electrical, software, mechatronics, aerospace, or systems engineering
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Operations or maintenance experience with complex systems in high-stakes environments
- Excellent communication and coordination under pressure, leading cross-functional teams
- Data analysis with log review, performance metrics, basic scripting or SQL
- Continuous improvement mindset and adaptability in fast-changing environment
