TL;DR
Staff Platform Engineer (AWS): Building and optimizing cloud infrastructure for high-traffic consumer brands with an accent on Kubernetes orchestration, CI/CD automation, and data pipeline scalability. Focus on designing robust platform architecture, mentoring engineering teams, and driving technical strategy across the organization.
Location: Must be based in or able to commute to London for hybrid work (2 days per week)

What you will do
- Design and evolve the cloud platform architecture to support Uswitch, Money.co.uk, and AI initiatives.
- Build and maintain efficient CI/CD pipelines and robust DevOps practices.
- Manage Kubernetes EKS and Fargate clusters to ensure high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape technical vision and strategy.
- Mentor and coach engineers while promoting knowledge sharing across the organization.
- Utilize metrics and logs to improve system reliability, cost-efficiency, and security.
Requirements
- Must be able to work from the London office 2 days per week (Tuesday/Wednesday).
- Extensive production experience running Kubernetes clusters.
- Proficiency in Golang, Helm, and Terraform.
- Production experience with Cilium, eBPF, and complex networking.
- Strong background in monitoring systems and debugging large-scale distributed environments.
- Familiarity with AWS multi-account designs and cloud-native tooling.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Python.
- Experience with Crossplane, Control Tower, or Argo Workflows.
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and GitHub Actions.
