What you will do

• Review, validate, and document metrics and approaches for building fault-tolerant, utility-scale quantum computers (USQC).
• Evaluate quantum computing architectures, devices, algorithms, and applications to determine maturity and utility.
• Discover, develop, and execute models and simulations at the component, subsystem, and system levels.
• Identify and capture design, development, and integration risks for commercial performers.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicists and engineers to synthesize technical solutions.
• Perform prototype subsystem reviews from System Requirements Review (SRR) through Final Design Review (FDR).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Mathematics, or Engineering discipline (Master's or PhD preferred).
• Must be based in the United States to undergo a favorable background investigation.
• Availability to travel 10%-40% monthly to Washington DC and other US sites.
• Experience with development and execution of modeling and simulation tools.
• Knowledge of standard Systems Engineering (SE) frameworks and practices (e.g., SysML, DoDAF).
• Ability to leverage mathematics and statistics to analyze and visualize complex unstructured data.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of photonic principles, superconductor devices, or other viable quantum information modalities.
• Experience with Quantum Error Correction and quantum fault tolerance.
• Expertise in quantum resource estimation tools and developing algorithms for fault-tolerant computers.
• Familiarity with typical DoD reviews and organizational structures.
