What you will do

• Research and develop design parameters and technical specifications for new engine products and components.
• Implement design and integration ideas, system configuration, and design in accordance with applicable design guides and standards.
• Interact with suppliers and internal/external partners to develop component and system solutions.
• Develop Design Briefs, cascading requirements to component design engineers, and provide support and guidance.
• Manage BOM for multiple engine builds.
• Act as the integration point between L5 application and L3 design teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering major.
• 8 years + engine system/components development-related experience.
• Expert user of CAD systems for modeling and detailing, ideally Creo (Pro/e).
• Demonstrate knowledge of engine fundamentals and manufacturability considerations for engineering changes and releases.
• Ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members, customers, and suppliers.
• Ability to build effective relationships across a matrix organization.

Nice to have

• Demonstrate a deep understanding of the structural dynamics and Virtual Product Development (VPD) tools to improve engine or machine structure designs.
• Experience working with PLM tools for developing assemblies of engines or whole machine design (e.g., Teamcenter Visualization Mockup).
• Proficient in detailed component design.
