IYCF Specialist (Public Health)

TL;DR

IYCF Specialist (Public Health): Promoting and protecting optimal feeding practices for children under two years old in humanitarian emergencies with an accent on breastfeeding support and complementary feeding. Focus on building healthcare provider capacity, implementing behavior change strategies, and integrating nutrition services into maternal and child health.

Location: In person, based in Ethiopia (Addis Ababa / Target Woreda)

What you will do

• Implement IYCF activities according to national and IRC standards.
• Integrate IYCF services with maternal and child health services such as under 5 OPD, EPI, and ANC.
• Facilitate training courses and provide on-the-job capacity building for health center staff.
• Conduct formative assessments for key behaviors and develop culturally appropriate IEC materials.
• Coordinate with local authorities and other nutrition teams including CMAM, OTP/SC, and Mobile Health.
• Manage monthly reporting, performance analysis, and activity monitoring at health post and center levels.

Requirements

• BSc or Master's in Public Health, Nursing, or Midwifery.
• 3-4 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years directly related to emergency health and nutrition.
• Trained and certified in IYCF and IMAM/CMAM.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English is mandatory.
• Possession of valid professional licenses.
• Demonstrated skills in program planning, monitoring, and Training of Trainers (ToT).
