Legal Trainee (Tech)

TL;DR

Legal Trainee (Legal/Tech): Supporting the legal team in providing expert advice, ensuring company compliance, and assisting in contract management with an accent on data protection and AI regulation. Focus on drafting commercial contracts, updating compliance frameworks, and researching the impact of new technology legislation.

Location: Hybrid (Helsinki). Must be based in Finland; no visa sponsorship available.

What you will do

• Maintain and develop internal legal policies and compliance frameworks.
• Manage contract archives and update legal templates.
• Update data protection documentation, including privacy notices and DPIAs.
• Perform risk and compliance reviews for new AI tools.
• Draft and review basic commercial contracts and legal documents.
• Research legal issues related to contract law, technology, data privacy, and employment law.

Requirements

• Roughly 3–5 years of law studies completed.
• Previous trainee experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
• Fluency in English and Finnish (written and oral).
• Basic understanding of contract law and data protection.
• Must have valid work authorization for Finland; no visa sponsorship provided.

Nice to have

• Background in technology or software-related business.
• Interest in legal tech and automation in in-house legal work.
• Knowledge of new legislation such as the AI Act, NIS2, and Data Act.
• Proficiency in Swedish or German.
