Junior Animator (Gamedev)

Junior Animator (Gamedev): Contributing to the creation of high quality motion of computer graphics creatures and objects within a shot with an accent on animation software programs. Focus on creating polish animation for shots including finger, toes, ear, tail, and wing animation, cleaning up contact sliding, body penetrations, tweaking arcs etc.

What you will do

• Provide day-to-day show support, including troubleshooting data flow, escalating tech issues, and updating shotfiles.
• Animate shots on specific projects and participate in determining aesthetic solutions.
• Create animation cycles and polish animation for shots.
• Problem-solve and fix issues arising from asset updates in shotfiles.
• Process Mocap performances, blend animation, and add polish.
• Collaborate with the stage team and provide reference performances, including motion capture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Traditional Animation or related field, or 2+ years of experience in cel, stop-motion, or computer animation.
• 2+ years of experience as an entry-level Animator.
• Firm understanding of traditional animation principles, acting, film production, and compositional design.
• Experience and understanding of Maya.
• Good organization and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and commit to deadlines.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with Linux.
• Experience with Motion Capture data.
• Scripting knowledge (Python, Mel).
