What you will do

• Lead a multidisciplinary team to design and build stable, performant software for real-time quoting and decisioning.
• Implement market-making strategies in collaboration with quantitative analysts and trading stakeholders.
• Develop low-latency event-driven services managing the full RFQ/quote lifecycle.
• Implement and maintain risk controls and guardrails, including exposure checks, limits, and kill switch patterns.
• Mentor junior engineers through pair programming and code reviews, driving technical decisions across the organization.
• Ensure high-quality decision logging for strategy debugging and replay using real quote/fill outcomes.

Requirements

• Must be based in the UK
• 7+ years of industry experience in Engineering, Machine Learning, Data Science, or Finance Engineering.
• 7+ years of software development experience using a modern OOP language (C# or Java).
• Understanding of performance, hardware, and low-level memory management (C, C++, or Rust experience is beneficial).
• Proficiency with AWS (API Gateway, Lambda, Serverless), Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Proven experience building event-driven, real-time systems where observability and safe rollout patterns are critical.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform and Helm.
• Experience with streaming technologies, particularly Kafka.
• Familiarity with backtesting, simulation, or strategy evaluation workflows.
