Software Engineer (Backend/AI)

Location: Must be based in Romania, the US, or Canada (Hybrid in Cluj, Romania).

What you will do

• Build scalable and reliable backend services to power real-time AI assistance and knowledge search.
• Design clear and maintainable APIs (REST, gRPC) for system integrations.
• Work across the stack including frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers.
• Collaborate with product managers and ML engineers to implement AI solutions.
• Take end-to-end ownership of projects from initial design to production operation.
• Participate in technical architecture reviews and continuous system improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong backend development skills with Python, Go, or Node.
• Experience designing APIs (REST, gRPC) and working with databases like PostgreSQL or Elasticsearch.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Must be located in Romania, the US, or Canada.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with frontend development using React.
• Experience with ClickHouse for data processing.
