TL;DR

Senior Engineering Manager (AI): Leading the Machine Learning Engineering team to bridge the gap between research and production with an accent on model fine-tuning, inference, and deployment at scale. Focus on building infrastructure for LLMs, mentoring high-performing teams, and driving the technical vision for healthcare revenue cycle solutions.

Location: Remote (United States). The role is hybrid-friendly for those near South San Francisco, with an expectation to attend the office every Wednesday.

Salary: $230,000–$310,000 + Equity

What you will do

  • Lead and mentor a talented team of machine learning engineers.
  • Oversee the end-to-end LLM stack, including model fine-tuning, evaluation, and production deployment.
  • Develop tooling and infrastructure to optimize the machine learning development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business requirements into high-performance technical designs.
  • Set long-term team vision and drive talent acquisition.

Requirements

  • Must be based in the United States.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in Machine Learning.
  • 5+ years of direct people management experience.
  • Hands-on experience fine-tuning and training models in production environments.
  • Deep proficiency in Python, PyTorch, and Kubernetes.
  • Practical experience with LLMs, RAG, and embedding technologies.

Nice to have

  • MS or PhD in Computer Science with an emphasis in Machine Learning.
