TL;DR

Senior Cloud Operations Engineer (Multi-Cloud): Architecting and automating secure cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS with an accent on hybrid integrations and cloud governance. Focus on Terraform deployments, Kubernetes orchestration, and ensuring STIG compliance for mission-critical solutions.

Location: Hybrid in Charlottesville, VA 4–6 times per month (must live within 100 miles). Office also available in Arlington, VA.

What you will do

• Engineer multi-cloud environments by connecting and securing Azure and AWS with hybrid integrations.
• Deploy and automate using Terraform in production, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps methodology.
• Containerize and scale leveraging Kubernetes (AKS/EKS or similar) to deliver reliable, repeatable environments.
• Implement cloud governance by deploying Azure Landing Zones, developing policies, and enforcing STIG compliance.
• Collaborate across DevSecOps and engineering teams to deliver mission-critical solutions.

Requirements

• 7 years of software development experience building software solutions using Azure in a secure environment (Python / Bash preferred).
• 2+ years of Kubernetes production experience (AKS/EKS or similar).
• 1+ year deploying Azure Landing Zones and implementing policies.
• Hands-on Terraform experience in production (CI/CD, GitOps).
• Familiarity with AWS networking (VPC, DNS, TLS; Direct Connect a plus).
• Active Top Secret (SCI eligible) clearance required.
• Security+ (IAT Level II) and at least one cloud certification (Azure or AWS).

Nice to have

• AWS Direct Connect / AWS Networking experience.
• Crossplane experience.
• Updated Azure / AWS certifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent experience.
