Software Engineer (AI)

TL;DR

Software Engineer (AI): Contributing to the Defence team by building and extending critical components of AI solutions across diverse software domains with an accent on cloud and edge computing. Focus on implementing engineering patterns tailored for the Defence sector, integrating with MLE and Data Science teams, and enhancing codebases' scalability and quality.

Location: Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC) and willing to work between 2 to 4 days per week on-site with customers throughout the UK. When not required on client sites, you’ll have the flexibility to work from our London office or remotely from elsewhere within the UK.

What you will do

• Build and extend critical components of client deliverables across diverse software domains.
• Deliver robust technical artefacts in both compiled and non-compiled languages to meet project goals.
• Implement defined engineering patterns and practices specifically tailored for the Defence sector.
• Collaborate closely with MLE and Data Science teams to integrate and refine technical solutions.
• Apply rigorous software engineering best practices to enhance the scalability and quality of our codebases.
• Execute CI/CD processes and manage application deployments on Kubernetes and bare metal environments.

Requirements

• Proven ability to solve bounded technical problems and deliver robust, scalable technologies.
• Hands-on experience in application development with a solid understanding of system architecture.
• Proficient in Python and have contributed to production codebases in Rust, C++, Go, C#, or Java.
• Experience participating in complex technical projects, including pair programming and code reviews.
• Comfortable working with Docker and GitLab to manage modern deployment pipelines.
• Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC).
