Location: Must be based in or be able to work from our Berlin/Potsdam offices (Hybrid)

What you will do

• Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team of data scientists and researchers, including performance management and hiring.
• Translate scientific opportunities into product-relevant use cases and influence the product roadmap.
• Prioritize and manage a portfolio of applied research projects balancing scientific impact and business constraints.
• Communicate scientific strategy and project outcomes to senior stakeholders and external partners.
• Oversee cross-functional initiatives involving Product, Engineering, and Business Development.
• Contribute to grant proposals, ethics applications, and scientific evaluations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in industry, startup, or applied research environments (not academia only).
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional project portfolios.
• Hands-on expertise in RWD/RWE, R, Python, and AI/ML visualization.
• Knowledge of FHIR, OMOP, OHDSI tools, ETL processes, and SQL (PostgreSQL).
• PhD, MD, MS, or equivalent in Data Science, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or Public Health.
• English language proficiency is mandatory.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of German, French, Portuguese, Spanish, or Korean.
