Sr. Director, Engineering Applications & Labs (Semiconductor)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States

Salary: $190,280–$285,000 per annum, plus bonus and equity plans.

What you will do

• Define and deliver multi-year roadmaps for global engineering applications, engineering labs, and integrated development platforms.
• Establish a Labs as a Service model with centralized provisioning, standardized services, dedicated IT support, and improved asset utilization.
• Modernize engineering toolchains, including Jira, Confluence, Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD systems, while integrating applications with lab environments.
• Drive cloud transitions, application resiliency, observability, secure remote access, and incident-response readiness.
• Implement role-based access, patching automation, network segmentation, governance, and regulatory compliance to protect engineering IP.
• Partner with Engineering, IT, Security, and Facilities to standardize operations and improve productivity across global engineering sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field.
• 15+ years of IT or technology leadership experience, including 5+ years in engineering applications or lab operations.
• Experience leading large-scale standardization or transformation across global teams.
• Strong program management, stakeholder alignment, and communication skills.
• Applicants must be eligible to access technology and software subject to U.S. export control laws; some applicants may require export license review.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with semiconductor workflows and tools, including EDA, verification, and silicon validation.
• Understanding of validation, bring-up, debug, test, and failure analysis lab functions.
• Experience with remote engineering workflows or lab automation.
• PMP, ITIL, or Six Sigma certification.
