Sportsbook - Performance Architect (iGaming): Defining performance architecture and non-functional requirements for a mission-critical, real-time Sportsbook platform with an accent on frontend performance, customer-perceived latency, and scalability. Focus on optimizing rendering, asset delivery, caching, CDN usage, Core Web Vitals, infrastructure, networking, and Kubernetes environments while leading measurement, load testing, and capacity planning.
Location: Malta; hybrid schedule with three days in the office on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and two days working from home.

operates a large international Sportsbook and iGaming business with a mission-critical, real-time platform and a multicultural workforce.
What you will do
- Define and own performance architecture for Sportsbook applications, with emphasis on frontend performance and customer-perceived latency.
- Establish performance-related non-functional requirements across web, mobile, and platform layers.
- Drive frontend performance practices covering rendering, hydration, asset loading, caching, CDNs, and Core Web Vitals.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects, Platform Architects, DevOps, and engineering teams to identify bottlenecks in infrastructure, networking, cloud, Kubernetes, APIs, and backend dependencies.
- Lead performance analysis, load testing, capacity planning, incident reviews, and root cause analysis.
- Mentor teams and improve performance maturity across the Sportsbook organization.
Requirements
- Strong experience with frontend performance engineering in large-scale, high-traffic systems.
- Solid knowledge of web architectures, modern frontend frameworks, HTTP, networking, caching, and CDNs.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, and containerized environments such as Kubernetes.
- Experience designing and reviewing systems for performance, scalability, and resilience.
- Previous experience in architectural or cross-team technical roles, with the ability to influence decisions without direct authority.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience working across multiple departments.

- Sportsbook, iGaming, or real-time betting systems experience.
- Experience with high-availability, low-latency platforms operating at scale.
- Hands-on experience with performance tooling, observability, and load-testing frameworks.
