What you will do

• Design and maintain Python tooling and Terraform modules to standardize Datadog configurations across services.
• Codify monitors, dashboards, and alerting patterns to eliminate manual infrastructure setups.
• Define and implement observability blueprints to ensure high-fidelity metrics, logs, and traces.
• Manage and optimize Datadog ingestion, data quality, and alerting costs.
• Upgrade and evolve shared tracers, agents, and platform components with minimal disruption.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to embed monitoring into Kafka, gRPC, and Kubernetes environments.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Canada
• 7+ years of experience in application development, platform engineering, or developer tooling.
• High proficiency in Python and solid experience with Terraform.
• Hands-on experience with Datadog metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting.
• Deep understanding of containerized, cloud-native environments including Kubernetes, Kafka, and AWS.
• Proven ability to independently drive large technical initiatives from design to production.
