TL;DR

Head of VFX (Game Art): Leading the creative and technical direction of the Toronto studio, ensuring the successful delivery of high-end visual effects for episodic and feature productions with an accent on creative output and team performance. Location: Initial placement in Tenerife, Spain (April - August), then relocate to Toronto from late August onward. Must have established residency in Ontario, Canada and be able to attend in-person meetings and work from the Toronto studio as needed.

What you will do

• Supervise VFX on a high-profile Apple TV+ series from the Tenerife studio, ensuring creative and technical excellence.
• Act as the primary point of contact for production and network stakeholders, maintaining strong client relationships.
• Collaborate with leadership to define and implement the vision, culture, and strategic direction of the Toronto studio.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead a world-class VFX team.
• Establish and oversee workflows, pipelines, and quality standards.
• Drive team performance and ensure timely, high-quality project delivery.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in VFX, with at least 3 years in a senior supervisory role on high-end episodic or feature productions.
• Strong compositing background.
• Proven track record delivering VFX for premium productions (streaming, broadcast, or theatrical).
• Established residency in Ontario, Canada.
• Ability to attend in-person meetings and work from the Toronto studio as needed.
• Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
• Strong client-facing experience with confidence in high-level creative discussions.
• Availability to be based in Spain from mid-April through August, then relocate to Toronto from late August onward.
