What you will do

• Lead the design and development of scalable backend services for real-time ad recommendation and data serving.
• Optimize system components for latency, throughput, and resource utilization including complex database sharding.
• Enhance system observability by implementing monitoring and alerting using tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Collaborate with product managers and scientists to translate business requirements into technical architectures.
• Mentor junior engineers and champion high standards for code quality and system design.
• Participate in on-call rotations to maintain high availability and reliability for mission-critical services.

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of experience in backend software development with high-performance, high-concurrency systems.
• Proficiency in Go or Python.
• Strong experience in system design and architecture for distributed systems in Linux environments.
• Solid knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and database optimization techniques.
• Experience with network API design, gRPC, and message queues like Kafka.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices including Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to have

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Hands-on experience deploying and serving machine learning models in production.
• Exposure to ad-tech or recommendation systems.
• Proven ability to refactor complex legacy systems for improved performance.
