What you will do

• Lead the technical roadmap for the MetaTech platform, balancing researcher-facing features with core infrastructure investments.
• Architect and develop high-reliability systems including simulation orchestration, caching, and strategy lifecycle management.
• Engage directly with Researchers and Portfolio Managers to define requirements and deliver scoped technical solutions.
• Drive platform modernization efforts, including engine migrations and observability improvements.
• Manage, mentor, and foster technical excellence within an engineering team.
• Integrate agentic workflows into existing systems to automate complex research and operational processes.

Requirements

• 6+ years of industry experience in building scalable, high-reliability backend systems.
• Strong expertise in the Python ecosystem for data-intensive and systems-level work.
• Deep understanding of systems engineering including distributed computing and data pipelines.
• Working knowledge of quantitative investment and research concepts.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments and relational/non-relational databases.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to bridge communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with simulation systems or financial data infrastructure.
• Prior experience in people management.
• Proficiency in C++ 11 or greater for performance-critical contexts.
