Salary: £58,810–£80,190 per annum

What you will do

• Develop and maintain high-performance backend services using Java.
• Contribute to architectural design for the data platform framework.
• Build and optimize data pipelines supporting major sports like American football and ice hockey.
• Deploy and scale cloud-based applications within AWS infrastructure.
• Implement and manage event-driven architectures for real-time processing.
• Ensure system reliability and performance under high-traffic conditions.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Java 11 or later.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services.
• Experience designing and scaling high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems.
• Proficiency in event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
• Understanding of monitoring, logging, and observability tools like Datadog or Prometheus.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity from our UK offices (Bristol, Basingstoke, or London) at least 2 days a week.

Nice to have

• Experience with stream processing (Flink, Spark, Kafka Streams).
• Knowledge of CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with sports tech or real-time data processing.
• Interest or experience in line management.
