What you will do

• Lead the migration of a legacy PHP and Yii 1 platform to a modern Node.js and React architecture.
• Define and communicate the target system architecture to stakeholders and engineering teams.
• Guide the technical execution of the migration while providing mentorship to team members.
• Analyze legacy codebase to design scalable backend services and modular frontend components.
• Collaborate with product managers and quality assurance teams to improve delivery processes and code quality.
• Build and maintain integrations with external platforms to enhance system functionality.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with Node.js and React.
• Must be based in Latin America (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, or Uruguay).
• Strong proficiency with SQL databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL).
• Proven experience as a technical lead or engineering team lead.
• Experience in managing legacy system migrations and architectural redesigns.
• Ability to work effectively in a distributed remote environment.

Nice to have

• Commercial experience with PHP and the Yii 1 framework.
• Experience migrating monolithic applications to microservices or modular solutions.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and modern delivery pipelines.
