What you will do

• Lead the design of high-performance distributed systems to handle massive global traffic.
• Refine services for improved scalability, efficiency, and modularity.
• Drive the transition toward a service-oriented architecture (SOA).
• Enforce code quality standards, including SOLID principles and automated testing.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement advanced caching or database strategies.
• Coach mid-level engineers through deep code reviews and technical knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional backend development experience with mastery of PHP.
• 4+ years of enterprise-grade application experience with Laravel or Symfony.
• Must be a resident of and legally eligible to work in the UK or Spain.
• Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and messaging patterns like SQS/PubSub.
• Proficiency in SQL, NoSQL, AWS, and Docker containerization.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with SaaS/PaaS, eSIM technologies, or GSMA standards.
• Background in Traveltech solutions.
• Ability to build or maintain custom SDKs.
