Release Engineer

TL;DR

Release Engineer (DevOps): Building and improving release processes and CI/CD pipelines for an in-house platform with an accent on environment consistency and automation. Focus on enabling development teams to deliver quickly and safely while maintaining high-quality standards across complex microservices architecture.

Location: Onsite in Belgrade, Serbia. Relocation package is available for international candidates.

What you will do

• Collaborate with operations, infrastructure, development, legal, and security teams to streamline release workflows.
• Improve and implement CI/CD processes using Jira and GitLab to enhance developer efficiency.
• Manage environment provisioning and consistency across development, testing, and production stages.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Assist development teams with branching strategies and the adoption of DevOps principles.
• Automate routine tasks using Python and Shell scripting.

Requirements

• Leadership and communication skills to drive changes in a fast-growing environment.
• Experience with Kubernetes and understanding of its internal mechanics.
• Deep understanding of microservice architecture principles.
• Hands-on experience with GitLab CI.
• Knowledge of Quality Control and test automation within agile environments.
• Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting for automation.
• Experience with MySQL and Redis.

Nice to have

• Practical experience with AWS or GCP, Calico, and Istio.
• Experience with message brokers like Nats and RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience with Unleash feature management.
