What you will do

• Lead production for the Newstalk Breakfast programme, covering all live and pre-production tasks.
• Collaborate with researchers and broadcasters to shape the daily editorial vision.
• Produce live in-studio sessions and build strong working relationships with presenters.
• Develop creative content ideas, book guests, and prepare briefing materials.
• React quickly and effectively to breaking news stories.
• Edit and design imaginative audio pieces to enhance programme quality.

Requirements

• Minimum two years of experience in live radio production.
• Qualification in journalism or a relevant discipline.
• Strong editorial judgement regarding current affairs and talk topics.
• Excellent storytelling, scripting, and professional audio editing skills.
• Knowledge of libel and defamation law, and relevant media codes of conduct.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to work within a team.
