Level Design Intern (Gamedev)

TL;DR

Level Design Intern (Gamedev): Contributing to the creation and balancing of new puzzle levels within a live mobile game with an accent on technical level implementation and data-driven difficulty tuning. Focus on collaborating with cross-functional teams and iterating on game mechanics under the mentorship of senior design staff.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Barcelona, Spain (Hybrid)

What you will do

• Design and iterate on new levels for live puzzle games.
• Analyze performance data to rebalance levels and improve player experience.
• Collaborate with developers, designers, and artists to integrate new game mechanics.
• Receive dedicated mentorship from a Senior Designer to develop design skills.
• Provide project estimations and deliver content according to production schedules.
• Utilize internal production tools to craft and refine player journeys.

Requirements

• Current status as a student or recent graduate in Video Game Development.
• English proficiency required.
• Passion for mobile gaming, particularly in the puzzle genre.
• Experience with game editors or prototyping tools (e.g., game jams, indie projects).
• Strong organizational skills and an intuitive sense for game design.
• Ability to work in a hybrid capacity at the Barcelona office.

Nice to have

• Experience with other forms of game design (tabletop, paper design).
• Previous participation in game jams or personal indie projects.
