Site Reliability Engineer II

TL;DR

Site Reliability Engineer II (Fintech): Ensuring the reliability and performance of ultra-low latency trading applications with an accent on system observability, scalability, and cloud migration. Focus on designing SLIs and SLOs, automating infrastructure tasks, and supporting the transition to Google Cloud Platform to maintain high availability for global financial markets.

Location: Belfast (Millennium House). The role is hybrid.

What you will do

• Collaborate with product teams to enhance application observability and incident resolution.
• Define and implement key SLIs and SLOs based on user journeys.
• Support the migration of markets applications to Google Cloud Platform.
• Automate system tasks to improve overall scalability and reliability.
• Participate in incident response, on-call rotations, and post-mortem analysis.
• Work across functional teams to optimize system performance.

Requirements

• Experience with Linux-based operating systems.
• Proficiency in programming or scripting with Python, Bash, or Java.
• Experience with cloud-based platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Adaptable mindset with a proactive approach to change.

Nice to have

• Background in DevOps or SRE roles within financial markets.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools like Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Experience with distributed systems, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform, GCE, and GKE.
• Understanding of networking protocols and message-oriented middleware.
