What you will do

• Build macroeconomic models of AI focusing on labor markets, growth, and income distribution.
• Develop and maintain scenario-based forecasting tools for GDP, productivity, and unemployment.
• Ground projections in microeconomic data from the hirify.global Economic Index.
• Contribute to the development of AI-powered research tools for economics.
• Publish research briefs and Economic Index Reports on transformative AI questions.
• Engage with academic institutions, policy think tanks, and diverse stakeholders.

Requirements

• PhD in Economics or exceptional candidate near completion.
• Strong background in macroeconomics, growth theory, or public finance.
• Proficiency in computational economics tools like Python or Julia.
• Proven ability to lead research projects from conception to publication.
• Experience with structural estimation, time-series forecasting, or task-based frameworks.
• Must be able to work on-site in San Francisco at least 25% of the time.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with agent-based modeling or large-scale simulation.
• Experience using large language models within a research workflow.
