TL;DR

Senior Data Engineer (Azure Databricks): Design and develop critical data engineering solutions using Azure Databricks, PySpark, Spark SQL, and ADLS with an accent on scalable Medallion architecture, data governance, and performance tuning. Focus on building high-throughput ETL/ELT pipelines, implementing automated data quality frameworks, and collaborating in an agile environment to deliver business outcomes.

Location: London, UK with hybrid work format

What you will do

Design and develop Azure Data solutions including Databricks, PySpark, Spark SQL, and ADLS.
Create prototypes and validate ideas with stakeholders.
Implement test-driven development and continuous integration processes.
Collaborate with team leads to clarify requirements and estimate development efforts.
Support operations with troubleshooting and deployment issues across environments.
Develop, test, and iterate on MVP solutions to operationalize new features and products.

Requirements

Location: Must be based in or able to work from the United Kingdom
3+ years experience with Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Azure Data Factory, ADLS, and related cloud technologies.
Strong expertise in PySpark, Spark SQL performance tuning, and scalable data architectures.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
Knowledge of data governance, quality frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
Experience in insurance or financial services is desirable.

Nice to have

Experience with Jira, Ataccama, Confluence, or similar tools.
