What you will do

• Lead architectural design and development of booking flows, checkout journeys, and multi-tenant platform capabilities.
• Define technical standards and patterns for Scala-based distributed systems to ensure scalability and maintainability.
• Drive platform evolution towards configuration over customization for zero-touch partner integrations.
• Mentor senior engineers and conduct deep-dive design reviews to raise engineering standards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and partner teams to ensure robust and extensible solutions.
• Promote asynchronous communication and documentation to support a low-meeting, high-alignment culture.

Requirements

• Must be located in Canada (Vancouver or Toronto) and work remotely from there.
• Deep experience or ability to rapidly master distributed system development in Scala.
• Strong product thinking with focus on stable, predictable commerce engines.
• Experience with multi-tenant system design prioritizing configuration over customization.
• Ability to balance long-term architectural health with rapid delivery.
