Public Cloud Assistant Infrastructure Engineer (Azure/GCP): Assisting with the design, build, and operation of secure, automated cloud platform capabilities for API Gateway solutions and integration cloud products with an accent on engineering excellence, automation, and AI-driven efficiency. Focus on leveraging Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD, embedding secure-by-design approaches, and enabling API-first delivery with reusable patterns.

Location: Hybrid working: at least two days per week (40% of your time) in one of our offices located in Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, Halifax & Edinburgh, United Kingdom.

Salary: £47,790 - £53,100

What you will do

• Assist with the design, build, and operation of secure, automated cloud platform capabilities.
• Build and operate platform capabilities using Infrastructure-as-Code and modern CI/CD.
• Embed a secure-by-design approach and controls from design to runtime.
• Define and operate against SLOs/SLIs, implementing observability and automation.
• Enable API-first delivery with reusable patterns and documentation.
• Contribute to communities of practice, upholding Platform Engineering standards.

Requirements

• Track record delivering large-scale systems with performance, availability and fault-tolerance.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
• Experience with one or more modern CI/CD systems (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Harness).
• Familiarity with Containers & orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell or Python.
• Basic understanding in Azure (ARM/Bicep/Template Spec, AKS, Application Gateway, Azure Storage).

Nice to have

• Experience with API Management (policies/C# basics).
• Harness experience in CI/CD.
• Knowledge of Dynatrace, Docker/buildah/Podman.
• Relevant Azure certifications.
