What you will do
- Define the technical direction for the frontend stack, leading the implementation and governance of the Design System and Component Library.
- Own and enforce Core Web Vitals, optimizing bundle sizes, build speeds, and asset delivery, and implementing advanced rendering techniques like React Server Components within Next.js.
- Architect solutions for efficient, localized state using React Context and minimizing external state libraries, leveraging Jotai for complex atomic state flows.
- Master the Apollo Client cache to handle API data fetching.
- Act as the internal customer for the frontend platform, improving CI/CD pipeline efficiency, enhancing local development tooling, and ensuring high-quality documentation.
- Lead through rigorous code reviews, enforcing TypeScript best practices and mentoring mid-level engineers.
Requirements
- 6+ years of frontend experience (4+ with React/TypeScript), with a track record of designing, owning, and shipping complex, multi-system features.
- Proven ability to diagnose and dramatically improve application performance under high load (browser runtime, network profiling).
- Expert-level understanding of Vanilla JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and browser APIs.
- Expert knowledge of GraphQL and Apollo Client.
- Track record of collaborating effectively with Product and UX/UI to translate business goals into high-impact technical solutions.
- Must be based and have the right to work in Germany.
