Employment type: Full-time employment Location: Remote Worldwide or Cyprus Join us at CVAT.ai, where we're pioneering advancements in Computer Vision. As a Backend Developer, your role is pivotal. You'll architect and develop robust, scalable backend solutions, driving our computer vision data platform forward. This is a chance to work with a skilled team, contribute to open-source projects, and influence the evolution of computer vision technology.
What you will be doing
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for CVAT.ai (check CVAT.ai GitHub repository)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into clean, scalable code
- Optimize backend systems for performance, reliability, and scalability
- Integrate machine learning, computer vision models and AI tools into the platform
- Apply best practices in security and compliance
- Conduct code reviews, testing, and debugging to uphold code quality
What we expect from you
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend development
- Strong proficiency in Python 3+, Django (or similar frameworks)
- Familiarity with RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and version control systems (Git)
- Comfort with productivity-enhancing tools and AI-assisted development
- Good command of English (Intermediate level or higher)
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment
Nice-to-have
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Familiarity with frontend technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/ TypeScript
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Contributions to open-source projects like GitHub
