TL;DR

PhD Student in Radar Interference Avoidance: Investigating and developing signal processing algorithms to mitigate interference in automotive radar sensors with an accent on understanding physical radar operation and defining multi-car scenarios. Focus on exploiting and developing algorithms for interference mitigation and characterizing interference situations.

What you will do

  • Investigate the influence of radar interference from other vehicles.
  • Study ways to prevent interference or minimize its impact for reliable sensing using safety-critical radar sensors.
  • Simulate modelled traffic scenarios and/or measure on real hardware.
  • Assess interference mitigation approaches with respect to their usefulness.
  • Work alongside NXP’s radar development team in Dresden, closely connected with NXP innovation teams.
  • Receive scientific supervision from the Chair of Electronic Systems and Sensors at Brandenburg University of Technology.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields.
  • Profound mathematical skills are a must.
  • Experience in simulation for signal processing, image processing, and/or neural networks are desirable.
  • Experience with MATLAB and/or Python will be helpful.
