Lead Business Control Officer

TL;DR

Lead Business Control Officer: Supporting Business Units in managing their risks proactively by balancing risk and business priorities with an accent on process understanding, control environment, and regulatory alignment. Focus on establishing robust governance, ensuring compliance, and developing appropriate KPIs for monitoring.

Location: Hybrid 2-3 times/week in Bogotá, Colombia.

What you will do

• Act as a bridge between local Compliance, Product, and global units for regulatory interpretation and implementation.
• Facilitate risk identification, control assessments, and documentation for market-specific processes.
• Establish and govern Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) with measurable thresholds.
• Promote first-line ownership of risks and controls, providing oversight and challenge.
• Manage the local control environment for financial reporting and act as a primary contact for audits.
• Oversee documentation and remediation of local control gaps, ensuring timely resolution and escalation.

Requirements

• Product and/or Non-Financial Risk knowledge.
• Hands-on and proactive approach with ownership.
• Ability to build strong relationships across all organizational levels.
• Quick learner with good communication skills.
• Willingness to improve and challenge the status quo.
• Ability to challenge the various Lines of Defense.
