Location: This position requires working full-time at the Mossville, IL office, 5 days a week. Domestic relocation assistance is available. Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this position.

Salary: $128,470.00–$192,710.00

What you will do

• Gather and analyze user/client requirements to create software specifications for components and subsystems.
• Drive design consistency across products and participate in software architecture discussions.
• Collaborate with internal Cat Technology teams, product groups, and external vendors.
• Guide projects through planning, development, and validation, providing project status updates.
• Engage appropriate subject matter resources to effectively resolve technical issues.
• Oversee project progress and costs, communicate status with stakeholders, and address problems.

Requirements

• Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum.
• Knowledge of the software development life cycle and ability to use structured methodologies.
• Extensive experience leading projects in the Electronics/Software or Controls area.
• Ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients.
• Experience developing and validating embedded control solutions using tools like Matlab, CANape, and Git.
• Experience with all phases and deliverables of the product development methodology.

Nice to have

• Experience with cellular, satellite, or IoT emerging technologies.
• Strong understanding of CAN/J1939, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and Ethernet-based communications.
