Manager - Software Engineering (React/Next.JS/Go)

What you will do

• Build and lead a new Scrum team, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and growing engineers.
• Own delivery execution, remove blockers, and manage dependencies to ensure reliable and predictable shipping.
• Drive technical direction and architectural decisions in partnership with principal engineers.
• Lead discovery efforts and contribute to the architectural runway.
• Champion engineering standards, on-call practices, observability, and non-functional requirements.
• Partner with Product and Design to translate customer problems into technical solutions and measurable outcomes.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems.
• 2+ years of engineering management experience with direct reports.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong technical foundation in at least two of: React/Next.js, React Native, Go.
• Hands-on experience with observability, incident response, and performance tuning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Scalr).
• Experience with Next.js and server-side rendering patterns.
• Prior experience in distributed systems, high-traffic services, or data-intensive platforms.
• Experience working in or scaling agile/scrum delivery models across multiple teams.
