Principal UI/UX Designer (AI)

TL;DR

Principal UI/UX Designer (AI): Leading the design and articulation of product vision for Missionforce, hirify.global's products supporting mission-critical work across the U.S. public sector, with an accent on user-centered design, system thinking, and leveraging AI tools. Focus on immersing in the full end-to-end experience design process, from storyboards to functional prototypes, and shaping compelling product visions with responsibility and inclusivity.

Location: Remote, must be based in Oahu, Hawaii, U.S. and be a U.S. citizen (U.S. born or naturalized) living on U.S. soil who does not hold dual citizenship, with the ability to meet customer and government screening standards. An Active Top Secret clearance is required; TS/SCI preferred. Ability to travel as needed to customer sites.

What you will do

• Lead the team in shaping and articulating a compelling product vision.
• Apply expert visualization skills and thought leadership in partnership with product and technology leaders.
• Immerse in the full end-to-end experience design process, from storyboards and journey maps to high-fidelity mockups and functional prototypes.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to bring bold ideas to life and create new design patterns for mission-critical products.
• Ensure AI-driven experiences are designed with responsibility and inclusivity at the core.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience designing and delivering products from start to finish as part of a cross-functional team.
• Experience working in or adjacent to secure environments.
• Ability to travel as needed to customer sites.
• Must be a U.S. citizen (U.S. born or naturalized) living on U.S. soil who does not hold dual citizenship.
• Active Top Secret clearance required; TS/SCI preferred.
• Deep understanding of user-centered design methods and best practices, including expert knowledge of current design tools such as Figma.

Nice to have

• Experience or a strong interest in leveraging AI tools (like Cursor, Replit, or LLMs) to explore, prototype, or automate design workflows.
• Track record of going beyond static mocks to explore how emerging tech can solve user problems.
• Background in defense/aerospace industries or operational military/logistics experience.
• Familiarity with IL5/IL6/CNSS #1253 requirements or deployment to classified environments.
