Feature Technical Direction Intern (Animation)

TL;DR

Feature Technical Direction Intern (Animation): Developing and supporting production tools for large-scale feature animation productions with an accent on crafting new software applications and extending existing systems. Focus on testing, debugging, and providing technical support to production artists.

Location: Hybrid (Glendale, California). Must be willing to work in Glendale, California and must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Salary: $17.87 hourly

What you will do

• Observe and assist Technical Directors with writing tools for the production pipeline.
• Craft and develop new software tools and applications to assist artists in large-scale feature animation productions.
• Test, debug, and extend existing tools and systems.
• Provide technical support to production artists.
• Support additional administrative and data-wrangling tasks.

Requirements

• Programming experience.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Pursuing or recently graduated (within six months) with an Associate, Bachelor, or Graduate degree.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be willing to work in Glendale, California.
• Ability to provide own relocation, housing and transportation.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Visualization, or Digital Media.
• Experience in programming languages such as Python, C++, or JavaScript.
• Knowledge of computer graphics.
• Experience with project-tracking software such as Jira or equivalent.
• Understanding of digital content creation applications such as Maya, Houdini, and/or Nuke.
• Interest in Feature Animation.
• Solid grasp of revision control systems such as Git.
• Familiarity with User Experience (UX) concepts and/or User Interface (UI) design and development.
