Salary: $212,000 - $311,000 USD (Tier 1 location)

What you will do

  • Be highly technical and an effective people manager, leading teams to deliver on projects in ambiguous areas.
  • Work with your team and cross-functional partners to define and influence strategy.
  • Lead and mentor a team of skilled Software Engineers, fostering a collaborative environment with Product Managers and Designers.
  • Drive the team's delivery of high-quality, impactful software solutions.
  • Take charge of the team's overall performance, ensuring strategic project goals are met with technical excellence.
  • Manage the goals and development plans of individual team members to ensure they are learning and growing.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire exceptional talent for the team.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including significant time spent building data, ML, or backend systems.
  • 4+ years of engineering management experience in a high-growth environment.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with experience leading conversations with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience owning projects from scoping through deployment in ambiguous, high-stakes environments.
  • Willing to be on-call for customers when situations arise.
  • Ability to travel roughly 10–30% of the time—primarily across North America with occasional international roll-outs—to work directly on-site with clients.
