What you will do

• Lead the architecture and design of new and existing systems within GOSS Tech, including design patterns, reliability, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Drive full software development lifecycle execution — from coding standards and code reviews to source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Serve as a technical leader and mentor to engineering team members, raising the bar on technical excellence and engineering culture across GOSS Tech.
• Own the reliability and operational health of globally deployed, highly concurrent, high-throughput systems.
• Partner with product management, program management, and senior leadership across GOSS Tech and Global Operations to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Identify opportunities to reduce cycle time, improve capital efficiency, and accelerate capability development through technology.

Requirements

• Experience in professional, non-internship software development.
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
• Experience designing or architecting of new and existing systems, or experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
• Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations, or experience in computer architecture.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team, or experience leading engineering teams as a mentor or tech lead.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering or a related technical field.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience in software development using TypeScript, ReactJS, and Java.
• Experience building and operating highly concurrent, high-throughput systems with knowledge of complex distributed systems.
• Experience in operating, troubleshooting, and mitigating failures in highly available services.
• Proficiency with data stores such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB.
