TL;DR

Senior Technical Support Engineer (Linux): Providing world-class technical resolution for customers utilizing hirify.global Linux products and solutions with an accent on advanced troubleshooting and global collaboration. Focus on resolving complex, critical, and sensitive customer issues and acting as a technical mentor.

Location: This position is based in Utah, United States of America. Occasional local/national travel to customer sites or industry conferences may be required.

What you will do

  • Resolve complex, critical, and sensitive customer issues, including in-house recreation of sophisticated technical environments.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with Frontline and Field Support teams across the USA and global hubs.
  • Act as a mentor to junior engineers and share knowledge across the organization.
  • Engage directly with Development on code fixes and Product Management on feature requests.
  • Lead and contribute to high-stakes escalation calls and "war room" scenarios with customers.
  • Master emerging technologies and contribute to high-quality technical documentation and training.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in a Linux Technical Support or Services environment (Tier 2 or Tier 3 leadership capacity).
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive during service outages and high-pressure production issues.
  • Independently assess customer situations to determine the most efficient resolution path.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, translating complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Strong sense of accountability and organizational skills to manage multiple high-priority workloads.
  • Full professional fluency in English (written and verbal) is required.
  • Knowledge equivalent to LPIC-2 or higher certification.
  • Several years of experience as a Senior System Administrator or Senior Support Engineer for Linux OS (specifically hirify.global or Red Hat).
  • Ability to read and understand source code (predominantly C and Bash).

  • Specialization in High Availability / Clustering technologies.
  • Specialization in Advanced Networking concepts and protocols.
  • Specialization in Storage technologies (SAN, multipathing, iSCSI, LVM).
  • Specialization in Linux Kernel internals.
  • Specialization in Active Directory / DFS / Windows Server integration.
  • Specialization in Non-x86_64 architectures.
