Senior Data Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Design and build performant, reliable, and correct data pipelines for large volumes of payment data.
• Own end-to-end data flows from ingestion and transformation through to final outputs.
• Drive data quality across your domain using appropriate tooling.
• Work cross-functionally with Product and Finance, and enable other Engineering teams through a consulting model.
• Contribute to team practices, including code review culture, CI/CD standards, and incident handling.
• Help onboard and mentor other engineers within the team.

Requirements

• Proven proactivity, technical acumen, and ability to lead initiatives and deliver projects.
• Experience defining and evolving data engineering standards, architectural guidelines, and governance, ideally in a regulated environment.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Hands-on experience with Spark or Flink in production.
• Proficiency with DBT for data transformation.
• Experience with StarRocks or a comparable analytical database.
• Experience building and operating data pipelines in AWS and/or GCP.
• Comfortable with data quality tooling and a mindset that correctness is non-negotiable.
• Familiarity with medallion / lakehouse architecture patterns.
• Verbal and written fluency in English is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Airflow for orchestration.
• Experience with Apache Hudi.
• Experience with financial, transactional, or payment data.
