Legal Counsel

TL;DR

Legal Counsel: Draft, negotiate, and revise contracts across military fields and company activities with an accent on sales, financing, and M&A documents. Focus on advising internal stakeholders, managing claims, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Location: Based in Montreal or Ottawa. Possibility to work from home occasionally.

What you will do

• Draft, revise, comment on, and negotiate contracts related to military fields (sales, licenses, financing, acquisitions, joint ventures, bids, tenders).
• Manage claims against third parties.
• Advise internal stakeholders on legal matters and the interpretation of applicable laws and regulations.
• Participate in developing and implementing various contracts and internal policies.
• Coordinate files assigned to outside law firms.
• Develop tools, including training tools, for the legal department and other hirify.global departments.

Requirements

• Excellent command of French and English (oral and written) and good writing skills.
• Bachelor of Laws degree (common law or equivalent experience is sought).
• Bar membership in Québec, Ontario, or another jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience within a company or a law firm.
• Problem-solving skills, a customer-focus, and team spirit.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (mainly Word, with functional skills in PowerPoint and Excel).
