Senior Software Development Engineer (Platform Engineering): Designing and building scalable platform features and services for cloud infrastructure with an accent on lifecycle management of accounts, access, and clusters. Focus on delivering a scalable, reliable, secure, observable, and cost-efficient runtime platform using Kubernetes, containers, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.

Location: This role is based in San Jose, California, United States. A flexible work model is available.

Salary: $157,500.00–$220,500.00 per year. Potential to increase up to $252,000.00.

What you will do

• Design and build scalable features and services for the core platform architecture.
• Write high-quality, maintainable code with strong test coverage.
• Monitor and support production systems, quickly resolving issues.
• Drive technical improvements in software performance and tooling.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with hands-on experience building and operating distributed cloud services.
• Strong experience building and running platforms on AWS (EKS, ECS, EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, ELB/ALB, Auto Scaling, Route 53, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Cost Explorer).
• Deep hands-on experience with containerization and Kubernetes at scale.
• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and Helm charts.
• Proven record of contributing production code and platform automation (Go, Python, Java, or similar).
• Experience building applications with resilience, observability, security, and operational automation.
• US work authorization is required (E-Verify participation).

Nice to have

• Prior platform infrastructure building experience.
• Knowledge of service meshes (Istio, Linkerd, VPC Lattice), API gateways, and advanced networking patterns.
• Experience with security/compliance for cloud environments, secrets management, and policy-as-code.
• Experience with monitoring/observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Open Telemetry, Jaeger).
• Proven experience with AWS cost optimization strategies and tooling.
