Location: Hybrid model in Cape Town, South Africa, with a minimum of 2 days per week in-office.

What you will do

• Collaborate with cross-functional squads to build new features on one of the apps.
• Develop integrations with new global partners to tackle underserved markets.
• Contribute to a global microservices architecture written in Scala using functional programming.
• Actively participate in the ongoing transition towards an event-driven architecture, utilising Kafka.
• Deploy code to production affecting millions of users globally.
• Work with AWS, Kubernetes, and Spinnaker based on the "you build it you run it" principle.

Requirements

• Experience with Scala and functional programming.
• Proficiency with the Typelevel Stack (Cats, Cats Effect, http4s, Circe), Kafka, SBT, and occasionally Akka HTTP.
• Familiarity with TDD and peer-reviewing practices for frequent, resilient releases.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Spinnaker.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule with at least 2 days per week in-office in Cape Town, South Africa.
